Changes
New Features
Inbound email handling
Administrative users are now able to integrate with one or more email inboxes. For every configured inbox a ruleset may be configured.
ServicePlaza initially supports POP3 and IMAP inboxes for this feature.
This ruleset may identify a new email in the inbox and trigger based on keywords in title or body of the received email. The following rules are configurable:
A trigger will be a ServicePlaza Workflow, so that you are able to leverage ServicePlaza API and execute various actions in ServicePlaza based on an incoming eMail.
Order Cart API
ServicePlaza now introduces an API endpoint that supports to programmatically add a new cart order into ServicePlaza. With this API you may create a cart order, just as a regular end user or on their behalf. This API may be used for integration with other upstream ITSM or Service Portal applications or in combination with the newly introduced inbound mail handling feature.
Please check API Reference section in the online documentation for further information.
User / Org Unit API
With the user API in ServicePlaza, you will now be able to programmatically add, remove or update existing users in ServicePlaza. Furthermore, you are also able to perform CRUD (change, read, update, and delete) actions for organizational units. Please note that org units are named partitions for API endpoint.
Language Editor
A language editor is now available to customize texts within ServicePlaza interface according to customer requirements. You may change default translations or adjust for example email notifications.
In the main settings tab or the language configuration, we introduced two new features.
Reload Translation Cache will update the cache for all services with the latest translation configuration files (when changed via the language editor), so that changes will take effect.
Reset Data to initial translation button will remove all customizations made via the language editor and revert them back to the system defaults.
Please use the reset button with caution! Any customizations will be lost on press.
Service Ordering without service booking.
A catalog service may now be configured to not create a service booking automatically within ServicePlaza. This may be useful when a catalog service is required for ordering process but service bookings are not desirable.
The parameter is available in the configuration tab for services.
LDAP user role overwrite protection
In LDAP configuration a role mapping may be created to automatically configured user roles in ServicePlaza.
The newly created parameter Keep Existing Role will not set the configured default role, if the user’s role has been configured manually by an administrator.
